“Common Threads” is a celebration of solidarities between the indigenous peoples of the Philippines and Guatemala. In order to explore their common colonial histories, and to learn from their struggles and victories, UBC students will be presenting about their work with Filipino and Guatemalan indigenous communities at the First Nations Longhouse on September 14, 2012. In lieu of this gathering, a photography exhibit will be housed at the Global Lounge throughout the month.
We invite you to submit a photograph on the theme of cultural resistance, either taken in the Philippines or Guatemala.
