Tinig Ng Masa (Voice of the People), a progressive Filipino-Canadian radio station on Vancouver Co-op Radio (100.5 FM) is looking for new radio hosts and technicians to train. The show runs live from 5-6 pm on Saturdays at 360 Columbia Street, Vancouver and episodes are also archived as podcasts on the Co-op Radio site. They cover a range of content from current events, to the latest in music, and even some of our lectures here at UBC Philippine Studies Series.
The training sessions are by donation and organized by Co-op Radio. Current hosts and technicians will show you the ropes before you do your own standalone live show.
Volunteers will have a lot of freedom in determining what topics to cover. So if you’re passionate about anything that has to do with Filipinos in Vancouver and the broader transnational Filipino community, email Krystle Alarcon (krystle.alarcon@gmail.com) and cc Tinig Ng Masa (tinigngmasa@gmail.com).
